Okay so I said I wasn't going to play Wrath of the Lich King again. Well after messing around on the single player server I decided to find a public Wrath server that isn't toxic AF, and I think I found one. ChromieCraft runs the 3.3.5 client, which is Wrath, although Wrath itself won't release for a couple more months at least. Right now it's in the Wrath pre-patch, so Death Knights are shaking up a storm in Outland but nobody's in Northrend.
I decided to take a break from playing a Hunter and roll a Shaman instead. Draenei to be precise, because I play Alliance or nothing!
ChromieCraft offers x2 XP rates so leveling is a breeze, but on top of that I have a Recruit A Friend bonus giving me permanent rested XP. For those that don't know, rested XP doubles your experience gain, and since I already had x2... I get x4! I am blitzing through the levels and am currently level 36, having only started around 4 days ago.
A big reason for the speed is that for the first time, I'm a healer. People rely on me to stay alive, the poor suckers. I had a pretty shaky start though. In my first dungeon the tank died on the first pull, and then half way through we had a group wipe. I felt terrible and almost gave up immediately, but persevered, respeccing my talents to better suit healing, bought some healer-type gear on the auction house and tried again.
The second dungeon the tank only died once, and it was really down to bad luck. I got a debuff that reduced my healing by 75% which put us dead in the water. By the third dungeon I was much better, and finally had a run where no one died! Fourth, fifth, sixth... all a breeze. I feel like I am getting the hang of the healing lark. In two separate dungeons, I received a compliment on my healing! <3
If you are interested in trying out ChromieCraft (and I do recommend it!) you can get bonus XP by using my Recruit A Friend code: 103416. My character ingame is called Mahsia, don't be afraid to reach out.
The server's population may not be as big as some of the others out there, but everyone I've met has been really kind and understanding.
Northrend awaits!
