The Honey Pot

A general update

22 July 2025

Hey hey!

There was nothing I felt a strong urge to write about, but it has been over a week since the last post so I wanted to do an update.

I am still playing Wrath of the Lich King on ChromieCraft, and Mahsia is now level 68. Only two more levels before I hit the current level cap, since while it's a WotLK server it's currently restricted to TBC content. I never raided in TBC, so that's something I might get into soon! The problem with raiding is, my play time is usually not consistent and I'm a little afraid of fucking things up for 9 (or 24) other players, so I usually do solo stuff. I found a casual, friendly guild who I might raid with though.

In other gaming news I was recently gifted Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 for my birthday, and it's great. The underlying engine is identical to THPS1+2 as far as I can tell, but the graphics feel a little more polished? I don't know if it's in my head or not. However, one thing's for certain: The level of customisability is off the charts! There are WAY more clothes, boards, and park assets! That is far and away my favourite improvement over THPS1+2.

Completely unrelated to gaming now, I recently watched the first two Resident Evil movies. These have very low Rotten Tomatoes scores, the first having 36% and the second just 18%. These movies, in my opinion, are firmly in the "so bad it's good" category with some hilarious fighting choreography and plot that makes no sense. My wife quite accurately summed it up as "what you'd get if you asked a 10 year old to come up with a cool movie". I honestly love them, I mean Alice rides a motorcycle through a church window for absolutely no reason. How'd she know anyone was inside? How did she get enough air to do that in the first place? I burst out laughing at that scene.

We also watched the first Rush Hour movie, and I can't tell if it aged well or not. Chris Tucker is still very funny, but wow some of the lines are a bit dodgy by today's standards!
