Starting a pin collection
27 July 2025
For what feels like years, whenever I've been out and about (or surfing different webstores) I've seen loads of enamel pins. Really high quality too, and they're never that expensive. The other week I decided I would start collecting them.
This is what I have at the moment:
The "You shall not pet" and the "Go away I'm introverting" pins are from a cat themed shop in a city near me. They had loads of pins but also little figurines of various materials like clay or glass.
Also on the first row is starry night featuring a photocombing cat, and if you've played the Binding of Isaac you'll of course recognise Isaac, and if you haven't, he's the crying child.
The large leaf is the Elven brooch that is given to all members of the Fellowship of the Ring in Lord of the Rings, and the green circle is a hobbit door. These two were from the same shop that had loads of merch for various fandoms.
Next we have the Nuka Cola cap from Fallout, and finally the two large Pokemon - Gengar and Psyduck! These two were a gift from my wife. In addition to featuring a pokeball with their pokedex numbers, the pokeballs actually rotate flat to act as a stand for them too.
The Hobbit door also opens up to reveal this quote from Fellowship:
And that's the collection so far!
The frame my wife and I made together by following this guide which I think came out really well, although it did begin badly when I cut my finger removing the glass that the frame came with. I thought it was perspex or some other plastic, and didn't realise it was real glass (with terrible edges might I add) until I was bleeding. Overall though I think it's a good sized display board and I'll hopefully find a place to hang it up soon, as right now it's just sitting on a shelf. I need to attach a hook to it somehow so it's easy to get off the wall when I am adding new pins.
