The Honey Pot

Collection II: Definitely Summat

Back to photography

I got excited and bought a second-hand Canon EOS 4000D DSLR camera, these shots were all taken during the same walk through the woods.

The title "Definitely Summat" comes from the drive home: Half a divan bed was abandoned outside a block of flats, I said to my wife "I think it's half a bed" to which she replied "It's definitely summat".

These pictures also, are definitely summat.

A muddy footpath surrounded by trees in Winter, the sun rises through the gaps.

A dark branch moves across the top of the photograph, in the distance is a power station.

A macro shot of some leaves on a thin branch.

A red combine harvester works in a field. Behind, gulls take flight.

When we began the walk we were heading up a slight hill, and at the crest of the hill, far in the distance, was an animatronic dinosaur. At least, that is genuinely what I thought. No, there was not an animatronic dinosaur at 8am walking across a farm near a woodland. Why would there be? I must have still been very sleepy, and it was quite the mental whiplash when I realised it was in fact just a big tractor/harvester type thing. Oops! You can't tell from the photo, but the position it was in when I first saw it, that raised bit looked like it was in front, it didn't look quite as long. It really was shaped like a generic dinosaur/T-rex type thing.

A pristine field in neat rows enclosed by a wooden fence.

A hollow container with "81" written on it leans against a mossy tree.

A wooden signpost reads "Yorkshire Water Permissive footpath".

Crescent shaped moss is surrounded by fallen brown leaves.

Two red berries cling on to some holly.

Ivy growing on a tree.
