Fried Cabbage

A simple side dish that soothes the soul.

  • 700g cabbage, preferably young cabbage
  • 100g butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 125ml water
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt, sugar, and pepper each
  • Handful of chopped dill

Wash and cut the cabbage into strips. Put the cabbage into a large pot, pour over the water and add the salt, sugar, and pepper. Cover the pot and cook for 15 minutes at a low heat.

Add the lemon juice and chopped dill and stir. Cook, uncovered, at a low heat.

In a different pan melt the butter and add a tablespoon of flour and mix well. Increase the heat until it starts to foam. Pour the melted butter over the cabbage and mix well.
