There is too much to say about World of Warcraft. It might sound cringe but it does feel like a second life to me. If I close my eyes I can feel the intense heat of Ironforge's furnaces, smell the fresh dew of Darnassus and hear the hustle and bustle of Stormwind.

World of Warcraft [Outside Ironforge, on my way to the Wetlands]

I started playing in 2007 and my first impressions were actually mixed. The tauren starting zone, Mulgore, gave me headaches for some reason and since I did not pay attention to quest text I often got lost, I did not understand how professions made you money so I was always poor, and I'd not understand that you had to do nearly all quests in an area before moving on if you wanted to level efficiently. I was on the verge of quitting when the next expansion, Wrath of the Lich King released. I'd just about managed to level my warlock to 55, which meant I could create a new character with a class that launched with the expansion: the Death Knight.

Wrath of the Lich King, and the Death Knight I had made, is where I really, truly felt at home and where WoW became something to cherish. Every zone was beautiful as it was unique, ranging from cosy woodland to dark mountains. To give you insight to the beauty, please listen to these songs.

Grizzly Hills

(The audio is a little delayed and begins around 20 seconds in)

Howling Fjord

I honestly cannot put into words what experiencing Wrath of the Lich king meant to me.

Ashenvale from World of Warcraft [We're going to see the Elves!]

Modern World of Warcraft does not interest me very much. I played through Cataclysm, the expansion after Wrath of the Lich King, and stopped towards the end. None of the other expansions captured me the way Wrath did.

Murloc

I still play, but these days I play on a private server which is where these screenshots came from. It is surprisingly not a Wrath private server, I think I'd like to keep the memories I have of that place just as they are.
